Zayas's 1983 recording of the Chopin Etudes was praised by Tim Page of the New York Times and Harris Goldsmith of Opus. Its reissue on Music & Arts CD 891 was proclaimed the best recording ever of Chopin's Etudes in Piano & Keyboard. Raved Donald Manildi in American Record Guide: "Fabulous...Zayas simply must be heard by all who appreciate piano playing--and Chopin playing--on the highest level." The release of this CD should elicit similar praise from those Chopin afficionados world-wide who are among the growing number of the Cuban-born pianist's admirers.
