BUZZ: Although Arrau recorded all these works for Philips (some, like the Sonata even twice) the concert performances presented here (chosen from many alternate readings) are far more virtuosic and expressive than the studio tapings.
"This may be Arrau’s most impassioned, felicitously detailed and fluent performance of Liszt's B minor Sonata"
"Arrau mavens will certainly want to know about this disc"
-Jed Distler, Gramophone, November 2001
