Description
These are highlights from the acclaimed 1997 Dvorák Day Dedication Concert in New York City, of which violinist Joseph Suk, great-grandson of the composer wrote, “Dvorák Day was one of the greatest days of my life. Steven Richman’s performance of the “New World” Symphony was fantastic.”
The late C.J. Luten, of Opera News magazine wrote, “I enjoyed the Dvorák performances immensely. Suk’s interpretation, for me, is inimitable. I never encountered its like nor do I expect to ever again. Magic! I don’t think I ever heard a more scrupulously detailed reading than Steven Richman’s of the New World Symphony, one that so clearly delighted in Dvorák’s wonderful invention. Mr. Richman has certainly refreshed a tired piece of music. I have seldom enjoyed it so much in the past 40 years.”
